Laguna Beach is a seaside resort town located in southern Orange County, California. Located just 19 miles southeast of the county seat, Santa Ana, Laguna Beach is known worldwide for its mild and temperate year round climate, beautiful beaches, scenic coves, and a thriving community full of art and culture.
Laguna Beach was settled in the 1870s and then later incorporated as the City of Laguna Beach in 1927. Shunning urban encroachment, due in part to the hills surrounding the city and limited highway access, Laguna Beach remains relatively isolated and untouched, with nearly 6 miles of Laguna Beach coastline being protected by a State Marine Reserve and another 1.2 miles of coastline designated as a California State Conservation Area.
Laguna Beach boasts a strong local economy, with tourism being the primary industry. Nearly 3,000,000 people visit the Laguna Beach community annually, taking in the scenery, nature, and the many events and festivals hosted annually in the city.
